Horton Winter Carnival & Castleford Annual Charity Fishing Derby
Saturday March 1st, 2008 - Sunday March 2nd, 2008
The 3rd annual Fishing Derby launched the 2008's Winter Carnival weekend. A shanty breakfast was served at the Horton Community Centre at 7 a.m. The awards were presented at the Community Centre at 7 p.m., followed by entertainment.
Sunday, March 2nd brought us the annual Horton Winter Carnival. Events began at 12 pm. with the free skate and costume judging and ran through to 4 p.m. finishing with the Bale Toss. Other events included a tug-of-war at 1 p.m., swede saw and cross-cut sawing, jelly bean contest, the pick-up broomball game at 2:00 p.m. and more!
All proceeds for the two day events will be going to the Sunshine Coach, Castleford Cemetery Fund and the Horton Recreation Building Fund.
